Scented leaf pelargonium
also known by some as scented leaf geraniums

"Pelargoniums with scenteds leaves"
First Edition
by David Barrett & Richard Clifton
published 1993
ISSN 1353-9841,   ISBN 0 9523313 1 4.

This booklet was published in 1993 to supply a need for a specialty work on the scented leaf forms of pelargoniums. Duplicate names for named varieties and incorrect names can make buying plants a lottery and so PWSL was conceived as a start to help the ordinary gardener and specialist grower. It had at the time the most comprehensive listing, and still does amongst works still in print. There are no colour photographs, as this was beyond the scope of financing such a specialist book, at the time, if it was to be affordable to all. There are however leaves outlines and leaf scent table to assist.

If was first conceived as a low cost reference work which could be republished at regular intervals to keep it as an up-to-date help to all scented Pelargonium enthusiasts. Since publication in 1993 some other books on the scenteds were published in several countries,  with some colour photographs, which seemed to reduce the need for further revisions of PWSL, for a time. However commercial Publishing Houses do not maintain such minority works in print for very long and only do short print runs in the first place. The second hand trade is now the main supply of these works. Some "complete" Pelargonium/geranium books by well known and knowledgeable authors are now available and are very helpful.

The first edition, of PWSL is still available from some specialist hobby societies upon ordering. If you cannot find a copy contact the publisher/author directly here.  However there is a need for a second edition with newer varieties included and so a second edition of PWSL is being worked on and is hoped to be available in the not too distant future. Anyone interested in the second edition when published, can be put on a notification list by emailing, notify@pwsl.info
